Our Story
Tavella’s Table grew out of a shared love for wine, Italian food, and bringing people together. EJ and Becky first developed their appreciation for California wine while attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where time spent exploring the Central Coast introduced them to many of the red wines they still love today, especially Syrah.
For EJ, that love of wine also had deep family roots. Growing up in an Italian family and learning about wine through his grandparents’ farm in Stockton, he always dreamed of one day growing his own grapes and making wine of his own.
Years later, that dream became a reality when EJ and Becky found a home with land that was perfect for planting vines. What began as a longtime dream slowly grew into something they could share with family and friends, and Tavella’s Table was born.
The name itself reflects what the winery is all about. Tavella is a playful nod to the Italian word tavolo, meaning table, while also celebrating our family name. To us, the table is where people come together, meals linger, stories are shared, bottles are opened, and some of our favorite memories are made.
At its heart, Tavella’s Table is about more than wine…it is homemade food, good cheese and cured meats, a bottle opened before dinner and friends who stay longer than planned. It is a celebration of family, food, wine, and all the memories created around the table.
